To cope with the modern realities, adequate investment in the development and protection of children, regularisation of the child budget, development of creativity among children and adolescents, the practice of scientific knowledge, and enabling entertainment and sports opportunities are required for the children and adolescents of our country; otherwise, they will face more risks, participants opined during an event titled “Dialogue with Journalists: Analysing Child Rights Situation in Bangladesh and Way Forward”.
The event was organised by the Child Rights Advocacy Coalition in Bangladesh on 29 November 2023 at the National Press Club. Members of the coalition and journalists from various print and electronic media participated in the dialogue where they discussed the child rights situation, analysed the progress, existing challenges and steps to be taken to overcome them. Among others, Faruq Faisel, Executive Director-Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK), Abdulla Al Mamun, Director-Save the Children Bangladesh, Nasima Akter Jolly, Secretary- National Girl Child Advocacy Forum, were present at the event. Tamanna Hoq Riti, Coordinator, Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK), presented the keynote.
